CHRIS Counseling Center
The CHRIS Counseling Center's provides in-clinic and community
outreach services. Outreach services may be provided in a client’s
home, family, school or community. The Counseling Center services
are provided by licensed clinical professionals as well as paraprofessionals
with specialized training.

Directions: The CHRIS
Counseling Center is located in the CHRIS Kids offices, 3109 Clairmont
Road, Suite A. We are located on Clairmont Road, between I-85 and
Buford Hwy. Exit I-85 at the Clairmont Road exit. Turn north heading
towards Buford Highway. At the 4th traffic liight (Look for the
Extended Stay America Hotel at the stop light), turn right into
the Century North office park. We are located in the next to the
last building in this complex. Look for the CHRIS Kids name on the
sign at the corner of the 3109 building. The CHRIS Counseling Center
is on the front side.

The CHRIS Counseling Center provides in-clinic and community outreach
services include:
Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, and Nursing Assessments:
The assessment process helps evaluate a child’s strengths,
supports, goals and needs as well as begins to identify and diagnose
behavioral, emotional and substance abuse problems in order to shape
the services and treatment received..
Individual Counseling: For children and adolescents
who have suffered trauma or are struggling with emotional, behavioral
and/or substance abuse problems.
Family Counseling: For the biological, foster
and adoptive families of children and adolescents who are struggling.
Psychiatric Services & Medication Management:
Provided by licensed psychiatrists with experience in child and
adolescent mental health/substance abuse.
Nursing & Health Services: Health/Addiction
and monitoring services, nutritional assessments and patient education.
Group Counseling/Training: Curriculum-based specialized
counseling or educational, skill-building groups for children and
adolescents with behavioral, emotional and/or substance abuse problems.
Examples of counseling groups offered include: Seven Challenges®
substance abuse groups, Grief and Loss, Relapse Prevention, and
Sexual Reactivity and Boundaries. Training groups include ADHD Symptom
Management, Communication Skills, Healthy Sexuality, Drug Use Prevention,
Medication Management, and Employment Readiness.
Family and Parent Groups: Curriculum-based specialized
groups for the biological, foster and adoptive families of children
and adolescents with behavioral, emotional and/or substance abuse
problems. Parenting groups use the S.T.E.P (Systematic Training
for Effective Parenting) curriculum.
Community Based Individual Support (CSI): One
on one support and training for children and adolescents in their
homes, schools and communities who need additional services in order
to be successful.
Intensive Family Intervention (IFI): Community-based
intensive intervention services to assist children, adolescents
and their families who are having trouble functioning or who are
on the brink of being separated due to the behavioral and emotional
problems of a child(ren). Services are provided using a team approach.
